The power of the Word! Not just any word but of the Living Word, Jesus Christ, given to us by our Father in Heaven.
As the living Word, Jesus is light and truth for all that is needed to make the joys of Heaven our own for eternity. All that is required is for us to receive. Receive Christ Jesus. In His Word. In His being. In His doing. Into our hearts. Into our being. Into our doing. Receiving Him with love.
In living the Paschal Mystery, Jesus showed us how to surrender to the will of the Father and in His dying and rising, brought forth the reality of eternal life. Are we able to allow the divine love and mercy of Jesus to live in us and we in Him (Acts 17:28) To live a life where, in our daily actions and interactions, we surrender to the light and truth of the Word of God, to ensure the gift of life eternal?
Jesus spoke the truth to Pilate, but he was incapable of receiving it. The meekness and humility of Jesus could not penetrate the preconceived judgements of Pilate.
We are also incapable of receiving God’s Word of truth when we do not allow it to penetrate our own preconceived judgements? Do we believe that God’s Word has the power to set us free from prejudice and ignorance to live a holy life, or do we condemn ourselves by not being open and attentive?
Heavenly Father, please help us receive with love the Word you have sent us, in our being and in our doing, so that by our response, we will experience the eternal joy of Heaven.
